NITK has been consistently identified as one of the top performers in implementing the TEQIP project. Based on the good performance in TEQIP-I and TEQIP-II and on the strength of our Institutional Development Proposal (IDP) for TEQIP-III, our Institute has been selected to participate in TEQIP-III. Our Institute has also been designated as Mentor Institute for Government Engineering College, Jhalawar, Rajasthan. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MHRD and agreement between NITK and Mentee Institute GEC Jhalawar have been signed.
NITK has been allocated Rs. 700 lakhs under TEQIP-III out of which Rs. 350/- lakhs (50%) for procurement, Rs. 280/- lakhs (40%) for Academic activities and Rs. 70 lakhs (10%) as operating cost.
Induction programme for the benefit of newly joined students of first year B. Tech, Workshops for pedagogy training, improve student learning, Graduate employability, Faculty and Staff development, Joint research projects, Research and Development, Mentoring/Twinning, Management Capacity Development, Industry-Institute Interaction etc., Establishment of Infrastructure for SWAYAM PRABHA, enhanced GATE participation rate and Joint activities with Industry are among the main objectives of TEQIP-III.
